Yoga. I've decided that I need more of it in my life.
Can't stop my overactive brain.
Sleep has been spotty.
I've never really been flexible... ever.
But man, I didn't think it was going to suck so bad.
I know comparison is the thief of joy, but I can't help but see everyone on FB and Instagram, zenning out, with their perfect poses,
And I'm just not feeling it.
I am feeling more calm.. and I'm beginning to understand what "leave it on the mat" means.
I look forward to that "mat time".. "me time" every day.
But physically, I'm challenged.
I fall over.... a lot, my legs burn, downward dog feels.. awkward.
But I can't quit now. I've never been a quitter. 2 weeks in.
When you start something new, whether it's in business, a hobby, or a wellness goal, it's going to be hard.
You often hear,
"Lower your expectations."
NO. I never want to lower anything.
I believe when we've had success in our life,
We need to understand that we won't necessarily match that same level of excellence in everything right away.
I often forget that I played sports for over 10 years of my life.
I studied 4 years to become an RN and get my degree.
5 years and 5 Fitness and Nutrition Certifications.
10 years teaching fitness classes.
2 years to lose 100lbs.
5 years in business as a strategist, coach, speaker, author.
6 years doing personal development to overcome a broken mindset.
Things didn't happen in 2 weeks.
So when you're starting something new, especially something you KNOW you need in your life,
- Know that you'll grow into your expectations and give yourself time.
- Focus on the stairs instead of the elevator. Quick fixes rarely work and you find out what you're really made of when you're challenged.
- Identify what you need and GO FOR IT. There is no time to wait. 2 weeks in, you'll wish you started 2 weeks ago.
It will never be the "Right Time."
Right time to start a business.
Right time to have a baby.
Right time to fix that broken relationship.
Right time to take the trip.
Right time to build a stronger body.
Your time is now, so make a change and deepen your mindset about what it takes to be successful.
